Extended Stay Motels

are there any motels in myrtle beach, sc that let you work off your room?

I am stuck with no income as well as we need a place to stay. If we could find a motel which would let me work off a rate of a room, we would unequivocally conclude it.

There are 2 suggestions to question “are there any motels in myrtle beach, sc that let you work off your room?”

  1. The problem with that idea is that you’d need a place to stay while working off the room.

Most of the hotels in Myrtle Beach have open jobs in both housekeeping (not usually full-time) and in guest services. Both start pay at the same – about $7.50

This month – being peek season – rooms are running well over $100 per night. At $100 per night you’d need to earn $12.50 per hour (after tax) over an 8 hour day and that’s more money than most of the people who live here and work in those hotels earn.

You’d have to work at $7.50 per hour for 13 hours just to pay for one night. After tax – it’d be closer to 16 hours. If there were two of you renting the room and working 8 hours per day each then you’d just about break even on your debt to the hotel. But, then you’d need food so you’d have to take another shift working at a restaurant. A typical person might expect to eat about $20 per day so you’d need to work in the kitchen another 4 hours (probably more) each as well.

Most people can’t afford to live in a motel and eat out everyday even if they have a full-time job. That’s why it’s called "vacation" and not "vocation."

On the other hand – working one-day as a day laborer (pays about the same) would make you enough cash to maybe be not stranded and get back home. At the very least, 2 days as a day laborer earns enough to buy a bus ticket to just about anywhere.

  2. = These are the best deal on a Myrtle Beach Hotel…….

= Hampton Inn & Suites Myrtle Beach / Oceanfront

= Marina Inn at Grande Dunes

= Marriott’s OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes
