  1. firstly i would recommend not going to Phuket but maybe going to Koh Phi Phi and Krabi which are very beautiful but without the hasstle of having to walk down the street and be hounded by thais trying to sell their products.. you can get very cheap VIP overnight buses bangkok to Krabi or Phuket, which have aircon, tv, toilets and are very comfy ( i always go this way as i dont waste a day because i can sleep on the bus.)…Any motels in Bangkok will usually speak English so if you are not sure which bus station to go to you can always ask and they will be able to tell you where and how much it should cost by taxi. Also the more touristy places in Bangkok have places you can book buses from your hotel.

I think if you really want to see Phuket i would really recommend getting a bus( or train and then bus, or plane) to Krabi, heading over to the ferry that takes you to Koh Phi Phi and staying there for a night or so (a very small beautiful island with no cars and a very relaxed Rastafarian feel to it… while still being good for a party if thats what you are after.. which is also situated right in the middle of Krabi and Phuket) and then get on another ferry to take you to Phuket when you want.. the ferries go multiple times a day in both directions to and from both Krabi and Phuket..

Thailand is a very easy place to navigate around you dont need to really book anything in advance because most of the tourist places have so many hotels you will find it very easy to find something ( yes even in the island of Koh Phi Phi no matter what lies they tell you on the boat going out there) and you can book buses most of the time that pick you up from your hotel and take you where you want to go….

    Have a great trip:)

  2. I don’t know where you get your information from, but no train goes to Phuket. The best you can do on the train is travel to Surat Thani on the Gulf coast and than a bus to Phuket. So best just to take an overnight bus from the Southern Bus Terminal to Phuket. That’s a 12 hour trip overnight. But, why take a bus or train when you can fly to Phuket for only about $30 to $50 more than a bus. Nok Air, Air Asia, 1,2 Go, Bangkok Air and Thai Air can take you to Phuket.

  3. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is the name of the train system and Hualumphong is the name of the main railway station in Bangkok. but since there is no train to Phuket it really doesn’t matter. You can take a train from Bangkok to Surat Thani, but will need to bus or fly to Phuket from there.

A faster and better way would be to take a bus from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok all the way to Phuket or fly. Airlines like Air Asia, Nok Air, 1 2 Go, Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways often have very good prices to Phuket from Bangkok, especially the first three. Sometimes Air Asia has prices for less than the cost of taking the bus if you book well in advance or find a special promotion.

  4. As mentioned, there are no train lines into Phuket. While you could take the bus to get to Phuket from Bangkok, I think you will find it to be a very long and uncomfortable trip & flying on an airline will save you a great deal of time (you could always fly into Krabi from Bangkok, then take a bus or taxi from Krabi to Phuket).

If you want to go to Singapore, you could easily do so from either Phuket or Krabi (AirAsia has a Phuket-Singapore route; Tiger Airways has a Krabi-Singapore route).

  5. You should just buy a plane ticket from AirAsia. Its the cheapest and fastest way to go to Phuket. Its about 80-90 USD round trip.

  6. From Bangkok to Phuket.. I think best way is to go by airplain.. if you are looking for accommodation in Bangkok , try this site. it will help you a lot. G;day
