I’m 19 years old, thinking about going to Phoenix by myself to see the D’backs play. Am I safe?

I do not expostulate so after the diversion we would have to take the train from the track to my motel nearby the Airport (which we programmed out upon the Metro hollow website). Is which the correct choice deliberation I’d be by myself?

Yes, you’ll be fine. Enjoy the game and if asked to take a picture for the D-Backs website, SMILE for the camera! Please tell them that Maria in NY says Hi to Dave. Thanks!

If U happen to have enough good ole’ common sense and just stay way from the bad parts of town, i couldn’t see why not,or maybe U R a little nervous about doing things like this just because it’s the first time of U being on your own. I can see how one might feel @ age 19 like that.

Why dont you arrange a ride using your motel shuttle if they have one, its usually made available. Your never really safe anywhere, even small communities anymore. As long as you stay alert to your surroundings and DONT act like a tourist, lol, I think you’ll be fine. Either that OR, I would most likely just call a cab, and pay the price for a private ride. Know what I mean?

Yes, downtown is safe. I take the bus from Tempe to the games all the time.

p.s. I am 19 also.

No your not safe. This city sucks. There is so much crime here. Your coming by yourself and going to ride a city bus, I would not advise it. I was born and raised here. And its about as bad as LA.

Yes, it’s relatively safe at this time of year. You can get the Tempe bus #56 to West University and then transfer to the Red Line bus which will take you right to Chase Field (stadium). However, if your Motel is close enough you may be able to walk to West University and directly board the Red Line bus. Lots of good concessions inside the stadium, but realize they’re a bit more expensive than you might expect. PS: The way our D-Backs are playing now there will be plenty of good seats available. *Enjoy*

Dude, you’re 19, what are you worried about? The bus goes right in front of the stadium, you wouldn’t even be walking anywhere. Not to mention there’s always cops outside the stadium. Are you seriously afraid to be out after dark?

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phoenix is crime city!!!!!! there are shootings every night , and there are a lot of gangs!! good luck to you!!!! stay out of peoples way

By nativeAZ

Downtown is not necessarily the best place to be after dark generally, mostly because there is really no nightlife in our downtown which leaves it pretty much deserted except for the homeless. However, you are talking about a game night. On a game night, there will be loads of people around with lots of lights and police presence and lots of places open late to bring in the game crowd. The red line bus is also one of the better bus lines, if it runs that late. You’ll be fine.

Taking the bus at night can be a little scary, but its safe, as long as you know how to deal with the drunk homeless people.
Motel near the airport? hopefully you aren’t staying on Van Buren.

LOL man you make it seem like Phoenix is some horrible crime invested place. Ok so its bad in some places, but you’re 19 and the airport to the ball park is not that far. I think you’ll be fine.
