However, you are talking about a game night. On a game night, there will be loads of people around with lots of lights and police presence and lots of places open late to bring in the game crowd. The red line bus is also one of the better bus lines, if it runs that late. You'll be fine. You can get the Tempe bus #56 to West University and then transfer to the Red Line bus which will take you right to Chase Field (stadium). However, if your Motel is close enough you may be able to walk to West University and directly board the Red Line bus. Lots of good concessions inside the stadium, but realize they're a bit more expensive than you might expect.
