If you think Fort lauderdlae is less expensive than South beach, think again! Ft lauderdale can be very expensive too. Actually some Hotels are MORE expensive than SoBe! But 60 dollars or less you´ll get a very bad Hotel, in either SoBe or Ft Lauderdale…don´t recommend…. 60 dollars can get you a Comfort inn or something like hat in a neighbourhood far away from everything, you´ll have to spend a ton on gas, parking, time, nerves…consider maybe raising a bit your budget? Traffic in winter is a pain, and driving from Ft lauderdale to SoBe or Miami can take up to 2 hs. And parking in SoBe is really expensive and difficult. If you really want to be in the heart of South beach, with all the clubs, restaurants, etc, I recommend get a Hotel there, and try to rise a bit your budget because for a 150 you might get a good deal there. Laud. is definitely the way to go. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
