We went last year, and I completely fell in love with the place. I could happily live there forever. Unfortunately, you're right, you have no hope, sorry! I checked the accomodation website we used, which was excellent and had listings from all of the local real estate agencies, and there really is no availability for that weekend, not even in the lower Blue Mountains area. June and July is the high season (not just the weekends) so accommodation is very hard to find.
