I am formulation a 3 day outing to New York in Aug we am entrance from Boston with my mom as good as 5 year aged daughter. we devise to pierce to NYC in Dec to attend Brooklyn College. So we am meditative of on vacation a children’s notable relic as good as Brooklyn College as good as Harlem as good as Brooklyn.
Can we give me a good place to stay (hotel/motel) for poor for a 3 of us. we consider we competence stay form Thursday-Sun.
Can we give me a little good places to revisit as good as go eat (in Brooklyn as good as Harlem) which have been not as well costly.
Can we fix up me to a supermarket nearby any hotel/motel or inside of a Brooklyn as good as Harlem area?
I do not know most about NYC during all. we have lived in Massachusetts for twenty-three years as good as this will be a initial time which we step feet outward of my state. We will take a Chinese train from Boston.

A perfectly fine, if less expensive, hotel is the Holiday Inn Express on Union Street on the outskirts of Park Slope, in Brooklyn.
Park Slope is a lovely neighborhood, full of kid friendly things to do, but this hotel, I’m afraid, is on the grungy border of the slope. Never mind that – you can easily walk right up the hill to the real neighborhood of Park Slope. (There used to even be a bus into the middle of the Slope that stopped across the street from the hotel, but they just discontinued it last week in budget cuts!) There is a subway to Manhattan right at the corner of Union Street and 4th Avenue, steps from the door of the hotel.
A good supermarket right near there is the Key Food on 5th Avenue between Baltic and Butler Streets. Also, your daughter will love the fact that there’s a great italian ice/ice cream stand (with wonderful, unusual flavors) right on Union Street just above 5th Avenue. It’s called Uncle Louie G (it’s a franchise of a small, local chain – great!) There is also a wonderful, if expensive, frozen yogurt shop called Oko on Fifth Avenue between Douglass and Degraw.
Unfortunately, it’s not easy to get around Brooklyn by subway unless you are on the same line as the place you are going to. It’s far easier to go in to Manhattan (the system is set up that way.) It may be a bit of a chore getting to both the Children’s Museum and Brooklyn College from there. There is a good bus to the Children’s Museum, but you’d have to hike up Fifth Avenue a bit to get to it. And you’ll just have to take the subway and change to get to Brooklyn College.
Go to Hopstop.com to find out how best to get to these locations. (I must admit, I have a car, and usually drive to both of these places.) But you may find lots to do in Park Slope for your little one. Check out the doings on both 5th Avenue and 7th Avenue. Also you might go up to the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanic Garden. Again, that same discontinued bus would have taken you to both these places, but it’s gone. But you can walk it or take a car service a short distance. Also, Prospect Park is just lovely!
Sylivia’s is a soul restaurant in Harlem.
