1.Repair your credit, step by step. Pay every bill on time. Pay all your credit cards every month, more than minimum due. Eliminate extra credit cards. STop credit card spending. Save money for down payment, rent deposit.
2.Look at two flats and small buildings with owner renting them. Not all of them do credit checks. Get statement from your last landlord, and motel about you paying rent on time and take with you when applying for apartment.
Think about the consequences of your actions. You two are suffering the consequences of a pattern of making bad choices over time. Change your behavior! You can do it, but you have to want to. No lip service, ACTION.
