TO PLANNED ROUTE WHERE TAKING IS HWY 5 THRU ARIZONA,NEW MEXICO AND THEN TO SAN ANTONIO TEXAS.HWY 10 PRETTY MUCH STRAIGHT THRU?? HAVE ROAD ATLAS BUT MORE INTERESTED IN COOL SPOTS TO SEE,INEXPENSIVE AND YET FUNNIER THAT THE GENERIC ROCK HISTORICAL LANDMARKS YOU SEE ALL THE TIME . ALSO HAVE PET WITH US SO WE’RE THINKING MOTEL 6 WILL TAKE OUR CREW. ANY AND ALL INFO ON LODGING,CAMPING, SITES WOULD BE GREAT. WE MAY TAKE A SIDE TRIP TO GRAND CANYON!
Roswell, New Mexico is always a cool place to check out if you haven’t been before. Assuming you will be coming Southwest through El Paso, though. If you stop in El Paso, you can always check out Mexico, although the pet may cause a problem there. From El Paso to San Antonio is pretty boring!
I don’t know about the other states, but Texas is where I’m from. If you go to they will send you a complete guide to Texas with an Accomodations book, Event guide and Texas Map! It takes about 1-2 weeks to get! San Antonio is awesome. There is the Riverwalk, which is pet friendly, Sunken Gardens, Brackenridge Park with a train ride, the zoo, Alamo…I could go on and on. Most hotels are pet accomodating depending on the size. I hope this helps.!!
