What are "bad areas" of Seattle or motels you shouldn't stay at? Does anyone know a safe one?

Hi,
I (female, 22) will be starting to Seattle this Aug with my family (mom as well as immature adult sister) as well as perplexing not to go over a tip financially in anticipating a place to stay. We’ll be driving, though we’d still cite not to be miles as well as miles divided from everything, generally as I’m not sure how pricey parking downtown will be.

I found a little unequivocally poor motels to stay during online, though a reviews upon tripadvisor.com infrequently referred to guest feeling unequivocally unsafe. Most of them were additionally located upon Aurora, as well as there were additionally a little articles online which lonesome motel closures upon which travel for illness as well as reserve reasons, or since they were hubs of rapist activity.

Now my subject is: Is it only a sure area of Aurora, or any motel along there that’s not recommendable? I’m not overly strict as well as I’m patently not awaiting a 5 star road house for a price, though when it comes to personal reserve (and which of my belongings) I’d cite not to take as well most risks. Has any one got any applicable practice staying in Seattle for a couple of nights?

I additionally found a little hotels downtown, though they lend towards to be unequivocally expensive. :( Any great tips upon this end? Basically, does any one know from practice about safe, affordable places to stay in Seattle? And where should you really NOT stay?

Any assistance would be appreciated.
I’m fearful hostels have been not an choice as my mother (age 59) has a little illness problems as well as doesn’t wish to stay during a hostel.
I’ve additionally had a bad knowledge with a Green Turtoise Hostel in Seattle, as my credit label sum were stolen during my stay there as well as we was unexpected charged with exchange instituted from Thailand.

There are 5 suggestions to question “What are "bad areas" of Seattle or motels you shouldn't stay at? Does anyone know a safe one?”

  1. Aurora Avenue is the area that is well known by locals as the area where prostitutes hang out looking for customers so I would avoid that area. Hotels in the city can be expensive, especially in the summer months and parking is expensive in the downtown hotels. ($20-$30 per day).

If it were me, I would stay in a further out part of town or in the burbs where the hotels are less expensive and where they have free parking for guests. Then use the inexpensive public transportation to get to the things you want to see in the city "downtown" core area and use your car to drive to see things that are less convenient to get to with public transportation.

Staying near the airport would be one area to consider. Lots of hotels and motels to choose from and the new light rail line runs from the airport to "downtown" for $5 round trip. I’ve included some links that I hope might help.

  2. I faced the same question and decided on the Moore hotel in Seattle. It’s about $125 per night and you have to park elsewhere ($20 lot behind hotel). It had many good reviews in Tripadvisor and looked to be the best for the money I could find.

  3. Why don’t you just try the Seattle’s hostels?it’s very economic.most motels along Aurora Avenue are occupied by people with a bad reputation, and many streetwalkers are seen at night walking the streets.hostels are safe.I stayed in one of them in San Francisco and met people from all over.

  4. Honestly, I would never ever in a million years send my wife, daughter, (even mother-in-law) or any female to stay at a motel on or near Aurora avenue. I cannot think of a worse area for you to stay.

Here’s my suggestion: Stay down at SeaTac. Take the light rail in and out of Seattle. The Motel 6 on International Blvd. has a bus stop right in front to take you to the Light Rail station. Many others have free shuttles to the airport (take the rail to the airport & catch the shuttle back & forth to your hotel. There are many hotels in the $50-$60 dollar range and many have free parking.

  5. I don’t know if this would be of much help but I HOPE SO. This site has a lot of affordable hotel deals. The good thing about it is that it gives pros and cons. Also if you sign up to the site IT’S FREE to sign up.. you get a $50 credit towards your hotel price if its $300 or more. So if you are hotel reservation comes up to $300 you end up paying only $250.
