Los Angeles (3 nights), Houston (2 nights), Chicago (3 nights), Boston (4 nights), New York (5 nights) as well as Washington DC (3 nights)?
There have been 5 of us. We wish pretty labelled really protected accomodation that is still executive sufficient if possible.
What areas in a opposite places have been protected as well as what places should we avoid?
We will be staying in cheaper hotels or motels though THEY MUST BE SAFE! We have been from Australia. Going to America in July. Thanks, greatfully be specific about any of a places. We do not know where to stay!

Chicago downtown- the loop, rogers park, etc are all fine, close to Michigan ave is a good location. expect to pay about $120-140 if not more a nite.
In LA you can stay Near the Airport at any MAJOR hotel Chain. Or you can try Century City, Or Beverly Hills, It is hard to say because Sometimes it will say LA and that could mean ANYWHERE.
