Where is the cheapest motel to stay at by the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. 2 days before Thanksgiving?

We have been wanting to stay upon The Tuesday night prior to Thanksgiving.

There are 3 suggestions to question “Where is the cheapest motel to stay at by the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. 2 days before Thanksgiving?”

  1. The closest hotel to the mall is also the cheapest. try the Hotel Harrington. It just 2 blocks from the mall and has decent rooms.

  2. Beyond the Mall, D.C. has in the past two decades shed its old reputation as a city both boring and dangerous, with shopping, dining, and nightlife befitting a world-class metropolis. Travelers will find the city new, exciting, and decidedly cosmopolitan and international.

  3. You have to get outside DC to find anything affordable or even considered "Cheap". Only locals will know about places like Arlington, VA that will offer a direct bus to the Pentagon or Rosslyn and access to the metro and all that DC has to offer. Agree with the earlier post but it didn’t answer your question. Not sure what the occupancy rates would be like but check out –

Best Western Iwo Jima – http://www.iwojimarosslynhotel.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=places&utm_campaign=google_places_ms

Rooms are clean and convenient enough to get to DC without paying crazy downtown prices. There are a couple Marriott’s and Hilton’s in Crystal City and as far out as Springfield that are very nice and you can often get a room for less than $100 and both have a metro stop that makes getting to the city very easy.
